Scarface: Dopeman Music

Mr. Scarface is back!!!

This is supposedly Brad "Scarface" Jordan's first official mixtape. He brings the heat on this effort, pepping up his flow and getting back to spittin' rhymes with a couple new partners, B. James and Monk Kaza.

Scarface's last two efforts were acclaimed as sub par efforts, yet listenable. Many say M.A.D.E. and Emeritus were depressing efforts, focusing on too many dark subjects, making many people think that 'Face is about to put a razor to his wrist. But Dopeman Music is a breath of fresh air, as the young bucks that he's featuring on this album most likely got the veteran trying to keep up, so he's brought his "A" game to the table, not to be out-shined.

The first half of the album surpasses his last two efforts just on shear emotion alone. The production is tight and everyone seems to be putting their best foot forward with their lyrical game. Who said the South don't have lyricists?

Scarface once again proves that he is the one and only King of the South with Dopeman Music.

Mack Lessons: 7 Levels of Disrepect From Females

We've been listening to New York Times Best Selling Author Tariq "Elite" Nasheed for almost a year now. We're late in the game when it comes to his ism, but it's better late than never.

Currently, Tariq "Elite" is on tour, and he recently made a visit to the Washington D.C. area earlier this year. It was said to be a great show and he's made plans to make a return trip sometime later this year. Hopefully he does so, so he can share the game with everyone in the DMV area.

Back in 2008, Tariq made a podcast titled 7 Levels of Disrespect From Females. This show came about after a rash of incidents where women were getting out of pocket with their significant other. He details the different levels of disrespect ranging from slick and rude talking back to violence against their significant other. Peep his game and understand that as a man, even as a woman, you should see the signs of disrespect from your other, and nip it in the bud before it turns to violence. He not only speaks in the now, but he also speaks for the future. He's trying to school everyone, man, woman, and child, on the game, and how to be a mack at life.

Commentary: BP Oil Spill & Agenda 21 Conspiracy

We're no experts on disasters, ecology, politics, etc, but this bit of “news” scares the crap out of us. This “news” doesn’t come from reputable sources but they damn sure make it sound good. There’s tons of conspiracy theories as to why this oil spill is happening. Recently, there was a YouTube posting stating the oil spill is not oil but volcanic ash and sulfur. Apparently, the drilling company was 20-30 thousand feet down, not 2-5 thousand, as they state, hit the side of an underwater volcano or created a volcano by piercing the bottom of the sea floor. The video says this is evident by the doctoring of the “live” streaming of the oil gushing out which seems to be a video of a video. This is under suspicion because if you look closely, you can see someone entering and leaving the room as a reflection on the monitor; as if someone’s in an editing room. The video is real “informative”, sounds logical, but we don’t know what to believe.

Here is the video, in an attempt to expose the possible conspiracy that is the BP Oil Spill:

There's also a recent article about how within a couple years the Earth could basically be destroyed by this event because of the piercing of the sea floor. Apparently, all of the material that’s spilling out will empty into the ocean, killing everything worldwide, eventually making its way inland, contaminating fresh water sources, and the domino effect begins. This is a possible Extinction Level Event (E.L.E). Eventually, the sea floor will shift, due to the emptying of the well that capped the natural leak, causing a Tsunami, wiping out coastal cities from Texas to Florida that surround the Gulf of Mexico. Apparently, this is a plan that has been in effect for the past 17 years, and that plan is called Agenda 21.

If you don't know what Agenda 21 is, read THIS article and educate yourselves.

HERE is an article supporting the theory that Agenda 21 could be the cause of this catastrophy.

As stated before, we're not sure what to believe. It was always speculated that "The Powers That Be" wanted the coastal cities since Hurricane Katrina. Those people effected by Katrina never got their land back. Instead, the land went to casinos and to the highest bidder. When we deal with disasters such as Katrina and now this oil spill, the reaction to them are so shady, it’s apparent that other interests are the reason why the response is so slow. Someone wants these areas around the Gulf to be uninhabitable, so everyone can leave, and then magically, if possible and true, the disaster will be fixed; only after everyone has left or was killed off. Also, the Tsunami theory is a way to wipe out everyone who decides to stay in those regions. "The Powers That Be" want to make that region as uninhabitable as possible so they can use it for their purposes; control the population living off welfare and social security, and to make money.

Both bits of information sounds logical, one stating that this event is a cover up and is controlled, while the other points to a possible End of Times event. Yet, they both point to the same culprit(s) as to why this has happened and explain the same reason why this has happened and what affect it will have on all those in that region to possibly the entire planet Earth.

Scary sounding stuff, but we’ll wait and see in a couple months if they can actually stop it from polluting the entire ocean. If this was a controlled event, then how come it hasn’t been done before and why the visible “slick” that has reached out to hundreds of miles from the epicenter? If this was a controlled event, then why wait so long to cap it off or control the amount of “gases and tar” spewing from the hole that will destroy the lives of thousands along coastal cities? If they know what might be able to stop the flow, why not have it on deck when it was apparent there was going to be a “slick” hundreds of miles wide and long? These are the types of questions that go against these conspiracy theories, but we will have to wait until August/September to see what happens, won’t we…

R&B Legend Teddy Pendergrass passes at 59

It is of deep regret to report that R&B singer Teddy Pendergrass, who was one of the most electric and successful figures in music until a car crash 28 years ago left him in a wheelchair, has died of colon cancer. He was 59.

Pendergrass died Wednesday in suburban Philadelphia, where he had been hospitalized for months. The singer's son, Teddy Pendergrass II, said his father underwent colon cancer surgery eight months ago and had "a difficult recovery."

Before the crash, Pendergrass established a new era of R&B with an explosive, raw voice that symbolized masculinity, passion and the joys and sorrow of romance in songs such as "Close the Door," "It Don't Hurt Now," "Love T.K.O." and other hits that have since become classics. He was an international superstar and sex symbol. His career was at its apex — and still climbing.

Friend and longtime collaborator Kenny Gamble, of the renowned production duo Gamble & Huff, teamed with Pendergrass on his biggest hits and recalled how the singer was even working on a movie.

"He had about 10 platinum albums in a row, so he was a very, very successful recording artist and as a performing artist," Gamble said Thursday. "He had a tremendous career ahead of him, and the accident sort of got in the way of many of those plans."

Pendergrass, who was born in Philadelphia in 1950, suffered a spinal cord injury in a 1982 car accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down — still able to sing but without his signature power. The image of the strong, virile lover was replaced with one that drew sympathy.

But instead of becoming bitter or depressed, Pendergrass created a new identity — that as a role model, Gamble said. "He never showed me that he was angry at all about his accident," Gamble said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. "In fact, he was very courageous."
Pendergrass left a remarkable imprint on the music world as he ushered in a new era in R&B with his fiery, sensual and forceful brand of soul and his ladies' man image, burnished by his strikingly handsome looks.

Gamble said Pendergrass was one of a kind as an artist and boasted a powerful voice and "a great magnetism." "He was a great baritone singer, and he had a real smooth sound, but he had a real rough sound, too, when he wanted to exert power in his voice," Gamble said. But it wasn't Pendergrass' voice that got him his break in the music business — it was his drum playing abilities. He met Harold Melvin, who was looking for replacement members for his group, the Blue Notes, and signed on to be the drummer. Later, he became the lead singer of the group, which became known as Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. The band started working with Gamble and Leon Huff and had signature hits in the early 1970s with "Wake Up Everybody" and "If You Don't Know Me by Now."

But Pendergrass had creative differences with Melvin and soon left for a solo career, according to his Web site. It was then he would become a sex symbol for the R&B genre, working women into a frenzy with hits such as "Only You" and concerts dedicated for ladies only. "The females," Gamble said, "loved Teddy Pendergrass. The females were very attracted to him and his music."

Unlike the songs of many of today's male R&B crooners, Pendergrass' music bordered on eroticism without explicit lyrics or coarse language — just through the raw emotion in his voice. "Turn Off the Lights" was a tune that perhaps best represented the many moods of Pendergrass — tender and coaxing yet strong as the song reaches its climax.

Fans were devastated when, at age 31, Pendergrass was critically injured after his Rolls-Royce hit a tree. He spent six months in a hospital and returned to recording the next year with the album "Love Language." He continued to sing and recorded several albums, receiving Grammy nominations; perhaps his best-known hit after his crash was the inspirational song "Life is a Song Worth Singing."

"To all his fans who loved his music, thank you," his son said. "He will live on through his music."
It was 19 years before Pendergrass resumed performing at his own concerts. He made his return on Memorial Day weekend in 2001, with two sold-out shows in Atlantic City, N.J. Gamble noted Pendergrass' charitable work for people with spinal cord injuries, his performances despite pain and his focus on the positive in the face of great challenges. "He used to say something in his act in the wheelchair, 'Don't let the wheelchair fool you,' because he still proclaimed he was a lover," Gamble said. But his career was never the same. Gamble said it was difficult for Pendergrass to project vocally like he once did: "The breathing aspect of it, he wasn't really able to deal with it." And while he had albums, he was no longer seen as the sex symbol but more of a sympathetic, tragic figure, even though he still had a strong following among his core female fans.

After the accident, he dedicated much of his life to helping others with spinal cord injuries and founded the Teddy Pendergrass Alliance to do just that. Gamble said he wanted to help others.
"In his quiet moments, he probably did a lot of reflection. But I never saw him pity himself. He stayed busy," Gamble said. "(But) I feel that he's in a better place now. ... He doesn't have to go through that pain or whatever he was going through anymore."

Commentary: Gilbert Arenas - The Everyday Idiot

Many say a picture is worth a thousand words, but in this case, this picture is worth Gilbert Arenas losing $147,200 per game and being suspended indefinitely without pay by the NBA.

Gilbert Arenas of our 'beloved' Washington Wizards was suspended indefinitely for his role in an incident with teammate, Javaris Crittenton, involving gunplay. At first, Gilbert claimed he brought the guns to the Verizon Center to keep them out of reach of his young children and he wanted arena personell to put them in a safe place for him. To us, that makes no sense, because anyone with a few dollars can go to Dick's Sporting Goods, Office Depot, Staples, someplace like that and buy a safe. He could have gone the easy route and just did that, but nope, he's trying to hide behind his child as his excuse for bringing the guns to the arena. Days later, the truth is starting to come out as to why he had the guns in his locker. Now he states he wanted to play a joke on a teammate. WTF! What is dude thinking? Who plays a joke with anyone with a guy, loaded or unloaded? Gilbert isn't in his right frame of mind. No one carries guns around and then pulls them out on someone as a joke. But to make the story even sweeter, it's being said that Crittenton did the same thing in retaliation. So not only do we have the 'star' of the basketball team walking around with guns like John Dillinger, but other dudes on the team are doing the same thing. SMH!! Come on millionaires, think.........think.

So more to this story unfolds over the next couple days where it would seem that Arenas and Crittenton had a beef over a high stakes card game that took place on the team plane. Gilbert lost and he had to pay up, but he allegedly didn't. We would now assume Crittenton, who makes around $15,000 per game, wants his money. Now lets do the math, Gilbert makes $147,200 per game, Crittenton makes around $15,000; with a difference of $132,200; "Gilbert, I want my money, and I want it now".

Gilbert is known for doing lots of charity work, working with inner city children, donating money, etc, so he says he has no reason not to pay up if he lost the game; but apparently so. Now none of us will know what was said to cause Gilbert to pull his toast on Crittenton, if that's what happened, but the story just keeps getting better. Apparently, Crittenton was seen walking around the locker room with his pistol, with one in the chamber, whistling. That shows that he's waiting for his opponent to show at the O.K. Coral. So no one knows what happens next, or at least no one will speak of it. We hear that there may be some video of the locker room incident and that the Wizards organization is eagerly willing to turn it over to authorities. I guess they trying to get his contract voided, so they can save money on the cap and get in the running for one of those big free agents this summer..........just a thought.

Many are wondering what's going to happen to Crittenton, and that he's such a small figure, that he could be cut without anyone even knowing or caring. But the mystery is, the authorities want to know if Crittenton really had a gun, because there has been no news on whether or not he even had one and the story of him patiently waiting to have a shootout are true. It's up in the air as to what's going to happen to him, but we don't think anyone really cares. But if the supposed video shows otherwise, he's going to have just as much heat as Gilbert has.

Now lets talk about the picture....Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert. What are you thinking, you idiot? You're already in trouble for bringing the guns to the arena. The organziation is pissed that you did so, and the authorities are trying to figure out what to do with you. If you just stop playing for one second, all could have been forgotten about; just like Delonte West. But nope, you had to show a sprinkle of retardation and jump around in the pregame huddle in Philadelphia, pretending to shoot at teammates. Not taking what's going on seriously, the picture shows that the teammates are having a grand ole time with Gilbert "The Town Jester", and now their asses are in trouble. And to top it all off, Gilbert says he feels that the heat on his isn't warranted because he feels that he did nothing wrong. He says that if he did something wrong, he'd apologize, but since he doesn't think he did anything wrong, there will be no apologies. SMH!! Dude, you're done, plain and simple. That's like slapping the Laws of the Land and the NBA in the face. Now you've tried their hand and made them act on you. What happened, took place two weeks prior and the league didn't do anything. They told the Wizards not to do anything and let the law handle it, because the law usually lets celebrities skate on something as "small" as this. Now you've spit in the wind and it's going to hit you dead in your face, and it's cold and windy outside playa.

Now Daniel Stern has finally spoken, Gilbert, you're "unfit to take an NBA court", go home, and we're not paying you. So wait for the law to come knocking on your door and haul your dumb ass to jail. Gilbert has shown several instances where he's just real stupid in the past, and many have written it off as quirkiness. All the jibber jabber in his blogs, talking crazy during interviews, etc was a sign. Now that quirkiness has manifested into something else in which he's now broken the law and most likely will be made an example of. We hate to see that type of stuff happen to anyone, but when you're being a dumb ass and you're rich at that; that's a bad mixture. The microscope is on him at all times because of the money he makes, so he has to be extra careful with what he does and says. I guess he didn't care, but what he doesn't care about, the law does, and for his stupidity, he's going to have to go through the system. Even if he walks out of this with probation, his ass should now learn to keep his mouth shut and do what he WAS paid to do, and that's play hoops.

Let this be a lesson to everyone that toting guns around for the hell of it isn't proving nothing. We recommend that if you got a problem with someone, be a man about it, and talk it out. No sense in someone getting in deep trouble for either killing another or getting caught doing something stupid; like carrying around guns. Gilbert's life was not in any danger, so there was no need to bring them to the arena. On top of that, he lied on his daughter as the reason why he did it; that's fucked up. And that means he's lied to authorities, which is also a negative. Boy, he's stacking them up; at least 4 possible felonies, lying to the police, gambling, I'm pretty sure they'll blame him for the possibility of the team being dismantled. Who knows, and we'll continue to monitor the situation. Plea bargain anyone?

Oh yeah, and Happy Birthday Gil. One word of advice to you, save your money.

DVD Review: On Location with Redd Foxx

Enough said, just look at who it is. How many of you can say that you've heard, better yet, seen a Redd Foxx stand up show? We know a lot of you kats never have, but here's your chance to hear and see a pioneer at his best.

This is one of the rarest shows that's available featuring Redd doing stand up. Some of you may have heard a few snippets of this show in a rap song or comedy documentary because this feature is probably his most popular. But the fact that it's available for you to review is what makes it special.

The show starts with Redd coming out and welcoming his all white audience. He makes light, no pun intended, that his audience is all white, so he'll make it real simple for everyone to understand his type of comedy. From the gate, Redd starts blazing cigarettes and putting down drinks. He's not finished with his first full joke before he's already burned up at least 3 jacks. He burns through an entire pack, a fresh pack of jacks, the entire 1 hour plus he's on stage. Now we see why his voice was so gravely.

Redd's jokes were quick and on point. He has some good one liners in there that may go over your head but if you run it back, you may get what he was saying. The entire show is not like that, he does tell stories throughout the show that are simply hilarious. The one story that stuck out is the story of the woman who paid a visit to her doctor with a hormone issue, and we'll leave it at that. You'll have to review the DVD for yourself to hear the rest.

As we stated, we enjoyed this old comedy from Redd Foxx and we wish for everyone to contact us for a chance to review it. It's some good classic stuff on there; the type of stuff your parents used to put you to bed early so they can listen to it theirselves. Now it's your turn to check out what made your folks laugh out loud in the middle of the night.
