Kanye West announces Kim Kardashian is pregnant

I usually don't comment on stuff like this, but I guess it is "entertainment".  According to several tweets from audience members at Kanye West's Revel Atlantic City show, he has officially announced that his girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, is pregnant.

This is something that Kim wanted for so long, and I would assume waited on "Mr. Right" to come along and make that donation.  Kanye seems to be the right one to make that donation, as he's been lusting over Kim for years, even while in relationships with former girlfriends,  Alexis Phifer, and Amber Rose.  If you didn't know, both ex-girlfriends tell stories of Kanye looking at images of Kim online and even receiving texts and e-mails from her while they both were in relationships.  Seemed like they both loved the attention they gave to one another, regardless of who they were dating at the time.  Kanye seems to be the perfect dude for Kim, as he loves just as much attention as she does.  They are the perfect match for one another when traveling down the road of wanting attention.

Without the cameras, who would Kim Kardashian be?  Where would she be in life?  Granted, she is the daughter of a deceased high-powered attoney, and she lived next door to stars and celebrities her entire life, and she even was a stylist for Brandy and her family, before the sex tape drop with Ray J.  But before being seen out with Nick Lachey and Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian only claim to any sort of fame was being sued by Brandy's mother for credit card fraud.  So, without piggybacking off of other famous people, where would she be today?  On the other hand, Kanye is a music producer, musician, designer, and who knows what else he has in the works; but his flaw seems to be falling for woman who are loose; and we all know Kim's dating history.

It's plain and SIMPle to see that Kanye loves this girl for her looks, her earning potential, and on top of that, the ease of getting with her.  She more than likely makes more than any of his past women, but the key here is, what is her personality like?  Granted, living in the world that they live in makes people of status seem "fake", but he lives in that world as well, so whatever her personality may be, he likes it, so none of us can judge him on that.  For all we assume about her personality based on reality television and her interviews, she's a shallow individual, motorized by the fame, attention, money, and more attention given upon her by the flashing bulbs of the paparazzi, media, magazine, and E! Entertainment.  But we all know that she makes money for doing nothing but breathing, she's got body, and she's easy.  If you are someone of status, and you show her some attention, you got her for as long as you want to keep her.  Kanye has done just that, shown her the attention she craves, controls her (such as throwing out her entire wardrobe and replacing it with what he wants her to wear), and he will benefit from it in the long run; piggybacking off what avenue of media presents her with exposure and a check.  So he'll get everything back that he puts in, plus more.  But in doing so, cashing in on immediate exposure and pay out, could cost him in the long run........

Now that Kim is pregnant, it will be a matter of time before her mother and manager, Kris Jenner, will try to fill every lane to expose the pregnancy to make money.  Whether it be a maternity clothing line, to a television show exclusive to just following Kim around to her doctor's visits and eventual delivery, to the selling of the first baby photos, Kris Jenner will look for a way to profit from this event.  Yes, I call this an event, because the reality media and even some "reputable" news networks will report on this pregnancy as much as they will talk about the looming "fiscal cliff" and thereafter consequences of a deal being made or not to save the country from an apparent financial ruin.  Everything the Kardashians do, Kris Jenner, will try to profit from it, and I doubt that Kanye is that shallow to allow that to happen.

The Seed
As stated earlier, Kanye is down with cashing in on his relationship with Kim, to an extent.  Some things are left to be sacred, and if he's still human, he doesn't need to sell off baby pictures to get attention and money.  But who knows, I don't know Kanye, and I don't know the Kardashians, but the track record speaks for itself, and I won't put it past the baby pictures being sold, or at least a public or leaked fight/disagreement between Kris and Kanye about the pictures being sold.  This is what greed leads to.  We'll all eventually see what the baby looks like, so there is no need to buy a magazine to see what the baby looks like.

So once the cameras stop rolling, the flash bulbs stop popping, and the looks and booty start to fade and sag, where does that leave Kim?  Oh, she's got a multi-millionaire's child, so she's set no matter what.  Kanye will continue to make money, even without providing his vocals on another song.  He's a talented producer, song writer, designer, etc; so he'll always be in demand in some avenue of music and entertainment.  And if they were to ever break up after the eventual marriage, if she ever gets divorced from Kris Humphries, she's going to get a big payout from Kanye; but that's the big business of it all.  This is a show I will not be watching, and probably will not be keeping track off voluntarily.

So good luck and congratulations.  I hope the love is real, because that baby sure is....

The Foreign Exchange Program

If you've been listening to the P³ Entertainment ‏Radio Show over the past few weeks, you may have heard me mention there will be an "Exchange Program", where I am recruiting independent artists from the DMV region, as well as other independent artists from around the country to participate in the program to have their music showcased and played on a radio show originating out of the United Kingdom. The radio show is hosted by an artist that I have showcased and played on the P³ Entertainment Radio Show in the past by the name of TrixCity (@TrixCity).

This is an opportunity for any and all independent artists who wish to gain more exposure to jump at the chance to get their material heard overseas, not just in their general region or territory.

To participate in this "Exchange Program" or to get more information on this event, contact Mally G (@DMV_Mally_G) on Twitter or simply e-mail your music in .mp3 format to P³ Entertainment, and in the subject line, put "EXCHANGE PROGRAM".  Links to your music and/or video to be played on the UK radio show will be accepted as well.

Remember, this is your opportunity to promote yourself and your region on foreign soil.  So, don't just submit any song to be played, provide your best material with the best quality sound.  You're not only representing yourself, you're also representing your region.  Don't let this opportunity be of any pressure on you or scare you off.  If you're making music, you're making music for the masses, not just your yard or neighborhood.  Legends are made when the world knows their name; so what are you going to be, a "hoodie", or a Legend?

So e-mail those songs .mp3 format to P³ Entertainment, or contact me via Twitter, Mally G (@DMV_Mally_G), to get more information on the "Exchange Program".

Let's do it, DMV....

Week 3 Countdown Review (ending 11/30)

Smoke Greene dominate the Countdown for the #1 spot
With so many new competition as candidates to be #1 on this weeks Countdown, Smoke Greene (@SmokeGreenDMV) grabbed 66% of the vote and ran away with the position.  It was Smoke's first week as a candidate, and his single, Blow Em (featuring Varr) had the stuff needed for the fans and followers to vote him into the #1 spot.

This week saw a mix of older candidates, such as last Countdown winner Che Merk (@CheMerk) and a host of others, but Smoke was the one with his hand held high after the smoke (no pun) cleared.

This weeks show was a special show, as it was a Public Service Announcement (PSA) for AIDS Awareness Day.  The show was entitled, World AIDS Recognition, and it showcased songs from the 80s and 90s that told stories of STD and HIV/AIDS awareness and mishaps.  It made it a very special show, as the seriousness of contracting a disease is very real through having unsafe sex, as well as intravenous drug use.  Check out the show HERE, and enjoy the commentary, as well as the songs promoting STD and HIV/AIDS awareness, along with the Countdown.

If everyone on your team, including yourself, your fans, and followers vote, you can gauge your base.  Hustlin' for votes isn't that hard, simply ReTweet the link to the Voting Booth each week there is a Countdown, and that's all that needs to be done.  Don't allow that thing called an ego get in the way of not voting, not even for yourself.  You have to take pride in your music, whether or not you take the top position.  Simply campaign a little harder, and spread the word that you're looking for approval of your material from the fans and followers.  With the number of candidates on the ballot, and the announcements being sent out through Twitter to vote; no candidate should have zero votes.

There is no gold chalice or blue ribbon for taking the #1 spot on a weekly basis, but campaigning and getting your team, fans, and followers to vote for your work and actually seeing the results, the fruits of your labor is worth the acknowledgement and honor of being #1.

Though P³ Entertainment is relatively unknown to most, we create an alternate avenue to have your music played during a semi-professional broadcast of mainstream and independent music.  We attempt to bring an underground sound to internet radio and give a chance to independent artists that your local and national radio stations will never give a chance.  That is the benefit of submitting your music to the P³ Entertainment Radio Show, either as a regular play or as an entry into the Countdown.  That is the benefit of getting played on the show; another avenue to be heard and show that you do have a loyal following.  You never know who may be listening, and if you show consistency, that's when the majors may come knocking.

This weeks Countdown was rounded out as such:

(2) Freewave
Marni (@marniXchange)

(3) Remember This
Leak (@OneManArmy_Leak)

(4) Sound of My Soul
Cannon (@whoiscannon)

(5) May 17th (featuring 4DaFame & Marco)
Leak (@OneManArmy_Leak)
4DaFame (@Solouptodoloyouknow x @Shaq_Money x @Nino_4DaFame)

To get your song placed into the countdown, contact P³ Entertainment on Twitter @dmv_mally_g or e-mail the mp3 or link to the song to p.3entertainment@live.com.  The Top 10 Voting Booth (located in the right panel) will be open daily until 4PM on Fridays; so gather up your team, fans, and followers, and vote until your fingers can't click anymore to get your song or your favorite independent artist song #1 on the countdown.

Pitfalls of Deals & Obtaining Sponsorship and Endorsements

Earlier this month, I’m sure you've seen the Champs Sporting Goods commercial starring 2 Chainz.  Apparently, he’s inked a deal with Adidas and Champs to represent the companies to “the hood”, to say, “hey, if 2 Chainz is wearing Adidas and doing this commercial for Champs, then Adidas and Champs must be aight”.  I mean, this is a come up for 2 Chainz, because there’s nothing wrong with earning endorsement dollars; but the motive behind the deal is what irks me.  These companies are using 2 Chainz’ 15 minutes of popularity to capitalize on a greater level to bring back the urban consumer.  Since 2 Chainz is one of the most popular recording artists in rap right now, the companies see an opportunity to use him as a puppet to draw in fanbase.  They use him to get their message across by having him wear their clothing line and advertise the store where the line is to be sold.  It’s marketing, yes, but it’s all an act.

Adidas and Champs have found an individual who the listening audience may follow to sell their products and enter their stores just because he has a few hot songs right now.  Apparently, both companies are in a rebirth period and need someone to advertise for them to the urban community, where most of the money will be generated.  And in the process, if the campaign works, how much of the revenue will 2 Chainz get?  If people weren't wearing the new Adidas and going into Champs before 2 Chainz started peddling for them, and both companies see a spike in revenue, 2 Chainz should receive his payment from his contract plus major points from sales on top of his contract.  This all depends on his written agreement with both companies.  If he believes he can increase the revenue stream to both Adidas and Champs, he should have in writing that he is to receive points on extra revenue gained by both companies.  They are using him for just that reason, and he should benefit financially from that as well.  A basic agreement is cool, but the incentive would be even sweeter.

We all know you have to slave in the industry to make money if your album doesn't sell or you signed a janky contract.  When I say slave, I mean tour consistently, for long periods of time, just to break even, or even eat.  Let this be a lesson taught to all you independent artists out there, if you want to get some money, find a sponsor or some company to endorse you.  Don't be fooled by the glitz, glamour, and false lifestyles presented that you see in these videos.  I'm sure most of you are old enough and educated enough by now to know that a lot of these artists are not living what you see on television.  But getting those corporate sponsors to back you is where you can make money and not having to worry about paying it back to someone, or someone taking a percentage.  With obtaining a sponsor or endorsement, you don't owe anyone anything if your run as an artist doesn't work out as planned.  You won't be bound to a contract and you won't have to a slave to the label you're signed to for the rest of your days until you work off that debt.  You will be indebted to that label until they feel you have zero value and decide to let you go.

If you didn't know, debt is slavery.  There have been artists signed to labels for years and even decades without putting out material because the label makes them suffer.  The label won’t allow them to work in the studio to make any material to work off the debt owed, thus keeping them under their thumb.  There are instances where an artist is allowed to work, to get that last album or two owed, so they may fulfill that contract, but the producers or the label head themselves will say it’s not to standard, and to get back in the booth to slave even more.  Some artists are cut off from the label, yet still signed, and all they can do is shop unofficial mixtapes to make money on the side so they can eat, because they aren't touring or making music for their label and they are reduced to peddling their time and music to live.  Even if it’s something like advertising, no matter how little it was, it was in the line item to your promotion, and if you don’t make any money for the label, you will owe them until it is paid off by your blood, sweat, and mostly tears, or they decide to write you off like a bad debt.  So try your damnedest to avoid being someone’s debt (slave).

Even on a personal level, avoidance of having debt means paying off credit cards, charge cards to department stores, bills of any sort, because if you don't, they'll compound interest and fees on you to prolong your status as a slave to them; causing you to be indebted to these establishments for as long as you still owe them; and with these types of establishments, they will write you off as a bad debt, but in the same process, refer your account to a debt collector, who, by some accounts, operate by almost no rules.  And if you refuse to pay the debt collector, they report you to the BEAST, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and then you’re dealing with a different animal.  From that point, the IRS will recommend you pay the debt or have your wages garnished.  Your credit score may take a significant hit as well, if you don’t pay your bills on time.  From that point, attempting to apply for more credit, obtain a job, and buy a car or house will be much tougher due to the report of you not paying your debts.  It’s sort of like a slave master not willing to let go of his slave until he’s fully picked the cotton field clean.  So try not be anyone’s slave.

Back to 2 Chainz, and obtaining endorsements and sponsors; you all need to go out and request your local establishments and even the heavy hitters like your favorite soft drink or clothing companies for a partnership.  2 Chainz is getting $100,000 per feature, and he’s featured on plenty of records, on top of his album selling gold (500,000 units, plus), so he’s paid (unless his deal is back loaded, and he won’t see any money until all his advertisement, promotion, travel, and any other expenses that are line items in his contract to pay for his exposure are paid off).  Endorsements and sponsorships are the cherry on the top for him, but to an independent artist, obtaining these types of deals are key to making any kind of money outside of small shows or appearances, when in actuality, some artists pay a small fee to make appearances on radio and small, independent internet and television programs.  So, as I stated earlier, though 2 Chainz is a puppet to Adidas and Champs, I say that because he has money, and they are using him to make more money off his “endorsement” of the product.  But to an independent artist, who isn’t selling records or doing shows, getting endorsement and sponsorship money is a way to supplement their studio time or stow away for personal use, if managed properly.

As I stated on the Thanksgiving Leftovers episode of the radio show, you can even choose who you want to get money from by going to them.  If you have a favorite drink, clothing line, food, etc, contact them, with a plan, present yourself, and sell yourself.  The more positive you approach these companies, the better your chances of scoring a deal.  To the endorsement and sponsorship companies, your status in the community and in the regional industry, even as an independent, is cheap advertisement to them.  Instead of spending thousands of dollars on advertisements in the urban areas, such as billboards, and local television, they pay you to say their name or to wear their apparel.  You are not their puppet because you approached them, in your grand scheme to create a new revenue stream.  Though there are terms and conditions to follow when entering these deals, if you read them and you work hard and stay straight, maintaining the deal shouldn't be a problem.  These deals are most likely your sole stream of making money as an artist, so you are not selling yourself out to make money because you are still who you are, and it was your decision to go with that company.  It's more money than you'll probably see selling a record at this moment as an independent, but at least you don't have to pay back a dime as if you’re signed to a record deal.  These deals are held to a period of performance and expire.  If the companies see that you are progressing as an artist, and doing some good for your community, they will re-up the deal, and possibly increase the payout.

So attracting a sponsorship is a great way to put extra money in your pocket as an artist.  Use the money wisely, and in the process, get some free merchandise out of it.  Follow the terms and conditions of the deal, and it’ll be easy to maintain that steady stream of free cash.  The only work is to shout out the product or even wear it to events.  You can’t be stubborn and not want to do that little bit to get a lot.  Put that ego to the side if you’re endorsed by a lesser known entity and have to wear it to a show or event.  If you want the big companies such as Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Invicta, Grey Goose, Sprint, etc, companies to endorse you; then you have to go to them with a clear cut business plan, and stay motivated and positive throughout to maintain.  That’s the road to PROSPERITY and not to SLAVERY.

Week 2 Countdown Review

Che Merk bounces to #1
This week saw a ton of candidates vying for votes to be #1 on the Countdown.  Fans from the DMV and all over filed into The Voting Booth to vote for their favorite artist/song and they have spoken.  With 40% of the vote, Che Merk (@CheMerk) took the #1 spot on this weeks Countdown with the song Wild Life on the P³ Entertainment Radio Show entitled "Untitled volume 30", which is now online at Spreaker.com.

Once again, this week showcased artists of all genres, including hip-hop, rap, R&B, and soul.  Last weeks #1, Bad Newz Gang (@badnewzgang202) was knocked out of the Countdown altogether, showing how stiff the competition was this week.  Maybe with the next voting cycle, EVERYONE will vote, even the candidate themselves can vote to make the Countdown.  Every vote counts for something, even if it is the artist voting for themselves.

Redskins survive Tampa Bay, 24-22

On a day where it seemed as if the Washington Redskins had the game in complete control, big plays against the secondary provided confidence for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second half which allowed the game to go from a potential blowout to a nail biter. In the end, it was on the suspect foot of Redskins kicker, Billy Cundiff (1-4 game; 6-10 on the season), to put the Redskins ahead with :03 seconds remaining after missing 3 previous field goal attempts during the game.

Today, American Idol announced who the remaining judges will be for the upcoming Season 12 of the show.  They picked country singer, Keith Urban, and cross-over artist, Nicki Minaj, to judge the show with singer, Mariah Carey, and original judge, former Journey bassist, Randy Jackson.  It was much speculated as to who the final quartet of judges were going to be since the departure of former judges, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.  Rumors swirled for weeks until the names of Carey, Minaj and Urban became solid candidates until today’s announcement, where the rumors became reality.

Sitting back and thinking about are these new judges suitable to be judges for this show, one may think about the background and accomplishments of the new judges.  Mariah Carey is a multi-platinum (too many to count), multi-time Grammy award winner singer and song writer.  Her career spans two and a half decades.  In short, she is regarded as to having one of the greatest voices to ever grace the industry.  In our book, she fits the profile to judge a talent show.

Keith Urban has over twenty years in the music industry, and has won multiple American Music Awards, Country Music Awards, BMI Awards, and Grammy Awards, to name a few.  He’s most famous these days for a stint in rehab, and being married to Nicole Kidman, but that’s neither here nor there when it comes to his accolades to qualify as an American Idol judge.

Then there’s Nicki Minaj; the newcomer to the industry, two years strong.  So far, she’s been nominated and won multiple New Female Artist awards, and multiple wins for songs Starships and Super Bass.  When she first came on the scene, she was supposed to be the next top female rap artist, but as the months went by, her style and image began to morph.  She started off with the raunchy and racy lyrics, drawing comparison to Lil Kim, and Choice, the little known female artist from Houston, Texas of the early 1990’s.  Then she started taking on the image of Lil Kim, Missy Elliott (whom will be discussed later), Lady Ga Ga, and other female music artists who had a flamboyant image and personality.  The direction of her music began to change, as she still rhymed in her music, but the music itself became more pop themed.  The music was no longer geared for the 20-30 something’s, it’s now more for the 13 and under’s.  She still makes music for the older crowds when she is in a collaboration with other artists, but her main vice is to draw in the young listeners, as they are the majority of the individuals listening and purchasing music.  And this is why American Idol signed her up, at the tune of $12 million to judge this season.

American Idol knows exactly why they wanted Nicki Minaj as a judge.  I for one, think it’s not hard to dress and act like a clown to get attention, but it’s the individuals that support the act that American Idol needs to maintain their spot in the ratings.  Nicki Minaj is not that talented to judge a talent show.  What advice can she actually give someone with an unheard voice, when the majority of her success comes from her image?  She can rap, she can harmonize, not sing…………harmonize, but to tell a singer they are or not good enough to move to the next round to achieve their dream is quite asinine.  She’s only had success on the mainstream level for 3 years at the most, and the explosion of that success is only about 1.5 years.  Her opinion of a contestant won’t mean anything to me because I can see why she’s there as a judge in the first place.

Over the past couple seasons, American Idol has been struggling to maintain their viewership.  During Season 11, viewership has fallen off to the second lowest since the first season for the entire season through to the final performances.  Nicki Minaj is being brought in to boost the viewership and ratings.  Mariah’s first reaction to being informed of Nicki’s addition to the judge’s panel was to hang the phone up on the show producers.  She even knows that Nicki has no place being a judge on the show, but it’s not her call; she’ll simply roll on to the bank with a $17-$18 million check in tow.  Call her a diva, call her a hater, but it’s a talent show, and in return, we’ll see and hear about what goes down between these two, without question, it’s going to happen.  But back to why American Idol chose Nicki Minaj as a judge; she has a legion of fans, a majority young, but they will tune in just to see her and to hear her critique contestant performances.  As stated before, it’s not about what Nicki has accomplished in her young career; it’s about the numbers game to American Idol.  With numbers down, the producers are using Nicki and her fan base to get the numbers back up.  They could care less about her ability to critique a singer; it’s about needing her fans to tune in each week to maintain sponsorship and additional revenue streams.  This is why they have 4 judges, because she’s there to draw the numbers, while the other judges, Randy Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Keith Urban, all who have 60 plus combined years in the industry are there to give the expert opinion for the contestants.

I’m sure Nicki knows why she’s been chosen to be a judge, and I doubt she really cares because she’s got an easy $12 million not to care; and these types of decisions are why the show’s popularity have gone downhill.  The producers have sacrificed the true meaning of a ‘talent judge’ for the sake of a ratings boost from a demographic that may be too young to stay up and watch the show.  They have prostituted themselves for the sake of money.  The first thing that popped into my head, Mariah’s head, and I’m sure into the heads of many, many others, is that Nicki lacks the talent and experience to be a judge on a talent show.  But again, numbers rule, and it was the producers job to find a formula or individual that will bring those numbers up, and they found the source in Nicki Minaj.

The money American Idol will make from sponsors due to the increase in viewership will pay for all the judge’s salaries, plus much more.  It’s a strategic and bold move by the producers to bring in Nicki, even though she lacks the pedigree as an entertainer to be a judge.  In the end, that bottom line is all that matters, and American Idol will thank the legion of Nicki Minaj fans for the boost.

Yet, to keep the tradition of a true talent show, I have a better individual in mind that could have been the fourth judge for Season 12, instead of Nicki Minaj……….how about Missy Elliott?  She has over 20 years in the industry; she’s a singer, song writer, rapper, and have written songs for Grammy winners, she’s won Grammy’s, AMA’s, MTV Music Awards, etc as a performer; her list of accolades spans through the 1990’s into the 2000’s.  I say Nicki has taken a piece of Missy’s image and molded it to create herself, with the colorful hair and the animated, cartoon persona.  The respect and knowledge that Missy could bring to the show will be welcomed, but we know the direction the show is going in.  I’d rather have something I can see and hear on my television screen, in Missy Elliott critiquing future talent, from a professional point of view, instead of a confused pop star, whose opinion of upcoming talent is as worthless as a festering bowl of dog snot.  I can’t see nor care for the number of people watching the show.  I want to see an honest and professional critique of a performance based on knowledge of the game.  Just because an artist is hot right now or even at all, doesn’t make them a master of the craft, when it’s all smoke and mirrors pushed by the machine.

If Missy, Mariah, Keith Urban, and Randy Jackson were the judges of the show, it’ll bring more credibility to the genre, rather than more fans of one judge, who may not be able to watch the show past bed time; but I’ve already said that.  Again, it’s all about numbers, and a show’s job is to maintain and grow those numbers, and they found a source to do just that in Nicki Minaj.  So be it, if it works, then it works, but it’s all hollow.  Let’s keep it real, and maybe that would be a formula that will work on a reality show.

PRIDE*PROSPERITY*POWER is what we're all about.  Everyone has the ability to be a legend in their own right if they continue to work hard at the craft and stay focused.  Don't let outside forces influence the direction you wish to take for yourself.  If you know you want to implement your own ideas to further brand yourself, then do them.  There's no benefits at the end if you don't take calculated risks.  Yet, some of those risks don't include listening to what others have to say about your direction.  Speak up if you don't like something, and in the end, you to, will have PRIDE in what you set out to accomplish.  If you stay on the path that you set for yourself, PROSPERITY will soon follow.  Only you can control the destiny of your own career, if you so choose to do so.  If what others tell you what's best for you sounds suspect, then speak up and take the time to think about the benefits of another person's decision for you.  Take the time to research all the possibilities of what's best for you, either by the decision making abilities of a vested interest, or by your own decision.  Take control of your career, and once you have control over every aspect of your being, then you have ultimately obtained POWER.

Washington Redskins defeat New Orleans Saints, 40-32

Hail to those damn WASHINGTON REDSKINS!!!!! Doin’ it big out there in New Orleans, with a win over the Saints 40-32.

On a day where 5 rookie quarterbacks started on Opening Day, Robert Griffin III was the only one to win his game. There was a lot of skepticism going into Sunday’s game on whether or not the pressure of a big first game against one of the NFL’s top teams would cause Redskin rookie quarterback, Robert Griffin III to buckle. After watching the game, since the opening kickoff, RGIII not only quelled those feelings of skepticism, he looked like a poised veteran.

RGIII threw for 320 yards and 2 touchdowns, all the while, maintaining his composure in this first NFL game. The New Orleans Saints put some pressure on RGIII to start the game, but the offensive line held up from start to finish. That’s a good thing, but it’s one thing that P³ Entertainment have noticed over the last few years; the offensive line holds up for the first 6-7 weeks of the season, then that first injury causes a domino effect that holds as drastic and tragic for the ‘Skins. Their depth on the offensive line has been a problem over the past few years, and when a first string player goes down, they usually have to replace him with a player that would then have to play out of position. Let’s knock on wood and hope that it doesn’t come down to this method of holding up a line, and let’s see RGIII succeed. The line needs to hold up in order for this franchise to get what they bargained for in order to move up the draft to select RGIII with the #2 overall pick in the 2012 draft.

Robert Griffin III’s rookie debut performance ranked second amongst rookies all-time in the categories of passer rating (139.9), behind Frank Tarkenton’s 148.6 in 1961; passing yards, behind Cam Newton’s 422 in 2011; and third in completion percentage behind Rick Mirer’s 74.1 in 1993 and Tarkenton’s 73.9 in 1961. That’s pretty impressive, and was expected by those who have followed him closely and truly believe he is the real deal.

Let’s hope the die hard ‘Skins fans don’t jump the moon over this one victory. Last season the team won in Week 1 over the eventual Super Bowl Champions, New York Giants, in convincing fashion, only to win 4 more games for the rest of the season. You have to remember the look on Mike Shanahan’s face during the post game press conference, as if he had a winner on his hands. He looked so proud, even with a certain sly smirk on his face, as if he had stuck it to the media and naysayers for not giving his team a chance to win……….after one game. Then the tumble began after a couple weeks and the rest is history, failing to improve from a previous dismal year. Let’s hope this trend doesn’t continue, as we’ve heard a few fans on the radio this morning proclaiming Super Bowl after 1 game. We know it’s pride and happiness after the team wins a hyped game that makes people say crazy things, but going to the Super Bowl after winning 1 game is………….crazy. Let’s just bathe in the success of a Week 1 victory, celebrate with each passing victory, and when we make the playoffs, and get into position to touch a Super Bowl, then say those crazy things; because then, those crazy things that one may say, may become an actual reality.

P³ Entertainment is proud of Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins after all the moves they’ve made to put themselves in a winning position. But the moves aren’t enough, it’s the play on the field. With each passing week, playing with PRIDE will lead to PROSPERITY on the football field; and with PROSPERITY comes the POWER. Obtaining POWER is the ultimate goal in whatever ventures you partake, whether it be your 9 to 5, or playing football for our beloved Washington Redskins; earning that POWER through PRIDE and PROSPERITY is the ultimate goal to success. RGIII has shown he plays with PRIDE, which led to PROSPERITY, and if he continues on, he can be a very POWERful man in the DMV.

If you follow the P³ Entertainment steps to success, you to, can be the person you dream of being.

LET'S GO SKINS!!!!!!

BREAKING NEWS: R&B Singer, Whitney Houston dead at the age of 48

Various news sources (TMZ) are reporting that R&B songstress, Whitney Houston has been found dead in her Beverly Hilton hotel room.  When paramedics arrived Houston was found unresponsive.

Paramedics performed CPR on the 48 year old multi-time Grammy Award winner, but was not able to revive her, and she was pronounced dead at 3:55 PM EST.  It is reported that she was identified by family members and friends.

It is reported that there are no obvious signs of foul play, but Beverly Hill Police Department detectives have begun a full investigation.  Police are currently seeking a search warrant to investigate the hotel room where Whitney was found dead.  The singer famously battled drug addiction for years, and have been the butt of many drug associated jokes over the years.  Houston was seen out in Hollywood Thursday night for a Grammy party, and many say that she did not look well.  As what seems to be her last performance, Whitney even took the mic and performed a song while at the event.

Many event goers say that Whitney "partied heavily" last night at the Beverly Hilton hotel where she was staying, drinking and chatting loudly with friends at the bar.  Whitney's mother, Cissy Houston, and Dionne Warwick claim the singer sounded fine just hours before her death.

Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party, which Whitney was supposed to open, is going on as scheduled this evening, though Clive will not be in attendance.  Bobby Brown is distraught over Whitney's death, going "in and out of crying fits."  He is scheduled to perform tonight with New Edition in Southaven, Mississippi.

Houston had one child, Bobbi Kristina, with Bobby Brown.  Houston and Brown were married from 1992-2007.

Houston won two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards during her record-breaking career. Her album "Whitney" was the first female album to ever debut at #1 on the Billboard Charts. She has sold 200 million albums worldwide.
